As a club and indeed the GAA as an association, would do well in my opinion to take a leaf out of the IRB books in relation to respect for referees. Up and down the country in games from U7 to Adults in all of the associations games we see and hear of evidence that we simply don't give our referees enough respect.
The video below is at the moment utopia for the GAA - namely a time when a referee commands such respect that he makes a simple address to a player and it's obeyed without question.
Personally, I think we can make huge strides to get to this utopia by encouraging all of our players and mentors to have total respect for the referee. It's very hard, I know that, but this can only be for the good of the games.
Let's try and make a start this weekend by encouraging all of our players and mentors and indeed parents and supporters to have complete respect for the referee(s).

Hi Lassies and Laddies,
Many thanks for your support for our first fundraising event of the year. We are most grateful. Mick has already mentioned where most of the funds are going. The winners of the raffle were;
1. First Prize - The Croke Park Tickets for all the League games and the winner is ; Stephen McCrossen and the ticket was sold by Ger O'Shea.
2. 2nd, 3rd and 4th Winning Tickets of the money prize of 50 Euro were held by;
Aine Kinsella, Denis Kearney and Niall Carthy.
Congrats to all the winners.

Draw takes place tomorrow night Thursday 2nd February 2012 at 10pm with traditional Irish Music and Ballads session. Please ensure all monies and ticket stubs have been returned to Fixtures Section Treasurer Chris Reilly.
The funds raised on the night will go towards the absolute necessity of having a Physio at Adult games throughout the year.

Hi Lassies and Lads,
The Fixtures Committee wish to thank you all for another splendid week. Did you ever see so many people training in all your period with the Club? Amazing really and when we think back to the difficult days when only a few people kept the show on the road against tremendous odds and now look at us - an everage of 15 members attending meeting and we have given up counting the numbers training each night after we reached the 'ton'. Please keep it up.
This week marks the beginning of our fundraising efforts to keep the Section adequately supplied with all the necessary 'equipment' to keep the section running properly.
On Thursday we are having the draw for the Premium Level Tickets and most of the profits for this is going direct to paying for the up-and-coming expenditure. This will take place at 10pm. There has been a great response - only a few tickets left - and we are really delighted. Many thanks - you are great.
At this time the Membership fees are due and it is important - for your own sake insurance and registration wise - that you pay this fee before the end of February. We will someone to take this fee on Thursday Night.
We will remind you of the Quiz night in one of our next messages.
